L'anatomie d'une décision

[Anatomy of a decision]

More great news! My historical novel published in 2020 at Éditions Encre Fraîche, Switzerland has won a literary prize (Prix SPG 2021)!

The story follows the decision process of my father and grandparents, a Jewish family from a small Hungarian town, for whom the Hungarian revolution of 1956 reactivates painful wartime memories, pressuring them to decide whether to stay in the country they call home or leave it in the hope of finding greater stability elsewhere.

The book has been published in French for now, and is available in these bookstores. The Hungarian version will be released in April-May 2022. The English translation comes next.

L'étui à frissons [The shiver case]

This short novel is my first surrealist story. It is written in French and has been published by Éditions Encre Fraîche in November 2021, in the short story collection Shivers (Frissons, ISBN 978 2 9701299 8 1), available in Swiss book stores or here, from the publisher's website.

The story

In a dystopic world, where productivity and profit are king, people fall into the habit of removing their amygdala, to prevent their emotions from hindering them in their work. But what happens when the brain region is restored after a long while? This is what the tycoon Anthony Ekstein will find out. He is the co-CEO of PEEK, the case and container company marketing the first amygdala storage boxes.

MICROFICTIONS

Microfictions are extra short stories composed of only two or three sentences.

My best ones are below; I have translated them from French:

#1 Pistachios

Although no tangible evidence remains of his existence, many believe that he had once existed, the man who could stop eating pistachios at will. Legend has it that one day, a child asked him about his secret and he responded with a sad smile: “I have never really liked pistachios”.
